  • According to the IFM Functional medicine is a systems biology–based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease. Nutritional therapy seeks to identify root causes of dysfunction with digestion and nutritional imbalances that affect cellular function.

  • Nutri-Q is the most comprehensive nutritional analysis application available. It is a web-based application with the full functionality of analyzing 321 possible symptoms.

  • Neurolymphatic reflexes  involve the lymphatic system, the muscular system, and specific nervous system reflex points.  Frank Chapman, D.O. discovered these points and how they are associated with specific organs. During palpations these points are potentially sensitive, the greater the sensitivity the greater the possibility that the affiliated organ is in some form of disfunction. Functional medicine considers the causality of disease, not just alleviating symptoms.

  • In the 1930's Terence Bennett, D.C. established neurovascular reflex areas which related to each organ of the body. When the reflex points are sensitive to palpation it is possible the affiliated organ is in some form of disfunction or deficiency.

  • Robert Riddler, D.C. categorized reflex points as a relationship to a nutrient. When that nutrient or group of nutrients was held in the mouth the tenderness of that specific reflex point would lessen showing that the body was deficient in that nutrient.
