"Jeanne helped me with cleaning up my diet and reducing inflammation. With her help I just finished my first half marathon! "
Having founded Wellness Changer, I am dedicated to helping people achieve better health and richer lives through sound nutrition and healthy lifestyles. I've always been interested in science and how the body works. I still remember my brother and I having our lab in the basement fully outfitted with a Sears chemistry set and microscope. We played for hours examining everything from pond scum to the blood we pricked from our mom’s finger. My love for science led me to attend Penn State University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and worked in a research laboratory.
Shortly after graduation I married my high school sweetheart. I then began a life-long personal study of holistic nutrition. I was now responsible for the feeding and caring of a professional athlete and his excessively hungry friends he would bring home. My motivation in nutrition naturally intensified after having three children in four years, and keeping all of us healthy and injury free was the scientific study of a lifetime. Once my children entered school I began teaching math and science and I discovered I loved being an educator.
Educating people about the science of nutrition is my passion. I sat side by side as dear friends and family members battled cancer, congestive heart failure, diabetes and other chronic diseases. I attended countless doctors’ visits and chemotherapy treatments with them. In time I had my own health scare, a tumor on a mammogram. Thankfully my tumor was benign, but my drive for understanding the causality of disease was ignited. This led me to examine clinical studies pointing to nutritional factors as the key to changing the wellness of the body. My research showed that those who lacked a whole food nutrient dense diet, along with a sedentary lifestyle were at the largest risk for serious and chronic diseases. These experiences motivated me to go back to school and become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) and get my certification in Fitness Training.
Wellness Changer was born out of my love for science and education. I now have the privilege to identify and address nutritional and functional deficiencies in my clients and create for them a unique, comprehensive plan to transform their health and improve their vitality. I look forward to meeting and working with you in the near future.
